Electrician

Responsibilities:

  • ...The Electrician is responsible for the successful wiring and powering of tooling and equipment. The electrician will work hands on with the builders, pipefitters, controls engineers and robot programmers to complete and support the work required on the project that he/she are assigned to. Employees might rotate to various projects based on the work available and priorities for the company.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIITIES (Include but not limited to):
     Coordinate with Assembly Shop Manager, Electrical Leads, Project Manager and Controls Engineers to configure electrical system layout.
     Assemble materials on job site based on provided prints from controls.
     Basic understanding of mechanical design, controls design and manufacturing workflow.
     Must be able to layout machine tooling from prints, test, troubleshoot, and install 24vdc,120v and 480v systems.
     Must be able to run switch cords between I/O and I/O blocks while organizing the cables for visual appearance and optimal functionality of the tool or machine.
     Must be able to route cables into enclosures through cable glands or cord grips and be able to properly terminate the wires to the proper terminal.
     Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
     Work with controls to communicate any changes made to prints.
     Check plant inventory making sure sufficient stock of wire, fittings and other required materials.
     Use shop tools both hand and powered.
     Perform other duties as assigned.

     Report progress of assigned tasks.
     Tools and systems built per design intent.
     Properly labeled devices per customer specifications.
     Completed and validated build quality checklist.
     Safely powered on tooling and systems.

     Must be organized and detail oriented.

     Ability and willingness to work overtime, travel, and work at customer sites.

    Key qualifications:
    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
     Experience building automation tooling and following NEC standards.
     Must own your own tools.
     Ability to travel for business both domestically and internationally
     Ability to weld or fabricate your own brackets is a plus but not a requirement.
     5+ Years of tooling and automated tooling wiring.
