Field Service Technician I

Responsibilities:

  • The Field Service Technician Level I will be capable of performing dedicated aspects related to, but not limited to, the operation, maintenance, data collection, electrical site design and connection, basic troubleshooting and associated record keeping of all Camera systems in multiple cities and municipalities in Canada.

    Key qualifications:
    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
    The Field Service Technician Level I will be responsible for ensuring all work is carried out in a safe efficient and productive manner. Performance must be in compliance with the Company Health and Safety regulations and to the satisfaction of our clients and JENOPTIK senior management with emphasis on compliance with all legal and operational contractual obligations, including but not limited to, data collection and associated maintenance requirements.
    The candidate must be hard working and self-motivated with high personal ethics.
    Responsible for ensuring the timely collection, accurate documentation and timely secure bi-weekly delivery of data to the Joint Processing Centre including:
    Experience and ability to drive small size crane truck highly desirable.
    Routine weekly data collection and deliveries as per data collection schedules following all procedures effectively
    Responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of all Traffipax owned operations equipment including;
    Perform troubleshooting of various electrical, mechanical and electronic components in the field,
    Perform basic mechanical work of assembling and installing equipment components in the field,
    Install, tune and maintain digital camera systems in pole cabinets in the field,
    File maintenance reports with the Technical Operations Manager
    provide support for other programs when required
    perform all duties delegated by the Program Manager

    SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
    Knowledge of electronics and computer skills for configurations and trouble-shooting
    Possess good communication skills in English
    Have basic Office Software computer skills
    Ability to work independently, responsibly, and safely
    Ability to solve problems in the field independently, with judgment to seek help when needed
    Must be able to work in a structured, transparent and auditable manner, prioritize, comply with processes and quality checklists
    Be willing to travel for technical training, as requested
    Effectively prioritize, plan and manage time
    Adhere to various safety regulations
    Adhere to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act

    Work Environment
    Field work will occasionally require bending and lifting of as much as 50-75 lbs. as well as climbing ladders to access equipment (less than 3 meters above ground level),
    Daily exposure to outside elements, as required,
    Performs all other duties as assigned

    Key qualifications:
    REQUIREMENTS:
     1-3 years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic components, power and connectivity wiring, computer hardware, etc.
    Experience and ability to drive small size crane truck highly desirable.
     Experience in the field of Photography in general and Digital Photography in particular would be an asset
     General knowledge with Windows operating systems and Office applications, in particular Microsoft word, Excel and e-mail
     Maintain a good driving record
     Ambitious and hard working with a clean driver’s license
     Clean police record
     Canadian Citizenship or Qualified Canadian Worker
